Grey Wagtail

Typical habitat a fast flowing stream

I do not understand the tail on this shot it is obviously to do with movement of the tail.  It appears to be a stroboscopic effect

This bird nested in this drain pipe

Nuthatch

Large trees

small stumps

Nuthatch will nest in all of these situations

I really like the computer abbreviation for this bird "Nutha" and use it at every opportunity.

Great Spotted Woodpecker

As can be seen my best photos appear to be of females.Hey Ho!! we all have our crosses to bear.

Goldfinch

An easy bird to  photograph. These are of a probable male.  One means of telling the sex is by the amount of red behind the eye, the males having slightly more .

House Sparrow

As with the Hawfinch not an easy bird to photograph. Although common and living with man they are still wary and to find them in  aesthetic  background is not easy.  This bird was photographed on the beach.
